Since the launch of iPhone 3G S in the United States, there has been a number of reports complaining about this model is prone to overheating. Apple has also released a warning article about the keeping the iPhone within acceptable temperature (read the article) although it does not specifically describe the problem. Most reports relate the problem to the battery issues.
Looks like it is not a good idea to buy the first batch of iPhone 3G S until Apple solves the problem.
